The nickel-copper alloy composition (Ni 63-70%, Cu 28-34%) provides outstanding resistance to corrosion in seawater, salt solutions, and various acidic and alkaline media. It is particularly effective against sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid, and phosphoric acid, making it a preferred choice for chemical processing and marine applications where many other materials fail. Its corrosion rate in seawater is remarkably low, typically less than 0.025 mm/year, ensuring long-term durability.
2 . Excellent Mechanical Properties Across a Wide Temperature Range
This alloy maintains high strength and good toughness from cryogenic temperatures as low as -196°C up to approximately 480°C. With a typical annealed condition tensile strength of ≥480 MPa and yield strength of ≥170 MPa, it reliably withstands high-pressure conditions in heat exchangers, condensers, and other pressure components.
3. Good Processability and Weldability
The material offers good hot and cold workability, allowing for the manufacture of seamless tubes with precise dimensions. It can be welded using common techniques like TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) without requiring post-weld heat treatment, which simplifies fabrication and installation processes.
